Double Your Way To A Million - Christmas Post

Double Your Way To A Million - Christmas Post

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays everyone !!!
I know this post will say Dec 25th but it is actually boxing day down here in NZ.

Just wanted to remind everyone that holidays are a goldmine for early doublers !
All those after Christmas sales with frenzied people. Instead of heading for the bargains, check out what they drop in their wake :D

Continuing with the advice for newbies, I'd like to throw out some suggestions for when you get to $5-$10.
This time of the year in the Southern Hemisphere there are many more garage sales and lots can be bought from them and re-sold on auction sites.
New Zealand is lucky to have a thriving auction site called Trademe so with research, this time of year can be lucrative.

But what do you look for ?
Well, I'd say to stick with what you know and always do your research.
Some examples from last Xmas (my experiences !)

* Paid $2 for a 1975 Star Wars Projector and slides, made $123
* Paid $1 for 5 Robert Kiyosaki books, sold for $60
* Paid $2 for Pumkin Patch and Beatrix Potter Baby Clothes and made $32
* Paid $6 for My Little Ponies with Accessories made $76 (There was a rare one in this lot...)
* Paid $0.40 for 3 Glo Friends made $63
* Paid $5 for a big box of Hot Wheels made $62
* Paid $7 for Barbies & Barbie horse stable made $40

That was on ONE WEEKEND !!
I kept great records and was very proud of this haul.

I've also written a few articles for the article banks on what to sell at auction, you can read them here if you'd like.

Good Luck everyone !

Rachel.

Double Your Way To A Million - Help For Newbies

Double Your Way To A Million - Help For Newbies

Hi Guys....
I was just doing my weekly rounds of the "Doublers" and I noticed a lot of people languish at the lower levels.

I personally found the lower levels to be the hardest ones to get past due to what seemed like an impossible task... Making money from nothing.

Heres a few tips that may or may not help.

1. If you haven't found any money these are great places and times to look.
- Early moring in a mall carpark after late night shopping
- Morning outside night clubs & pubs after big nights (happily, drunken people drop lots of cash !"
- Recreation grounds after a sporting match or function.
- Monday morning after a busy weekend or public holiday.
- Inside stores. It's amazing how many people drop money in the shops and don't pick it up !!

* My first money ($2.70) was found by my money sniffing bullmastiff on a recreation ground after a sporting event.

* I also found a brass elephant from Thailand on the ground which brought me $5 !

2. There is a ton of free stuff to be had after garage sale day. Take an after lunch cruise around - you can ride your bike if you don't want to pay for petrol and just call someone to collect what you find....

3. Check out your local trading paper. in New Zealand we have one called the Buy Sell Exchange.
It's great ! You can get anything for free from horse manure to TVs and old cars.

Just use your imagination and money comes flying at you !!

Good Luck !

Rachel.

Double Your Way To A Million - Even found some money !

Double Your Way To A Million - Even found some money !

Yesterday without thinking I actually found 10c !
As you may know our socialist government in true Zimbarbwean style decided our lowest monetary denomination should be 10c !
I thought I'd never find any money again ! But there it was, shiny & coppery in the sun :D

I've also sold some playstation books, 2 more CD-ROMs and some other eBooks so my total is now (after fees) $160 !!!!!!

That's right people... I've reached the next step !

So now I'm on step 16 ; $160-$320

And let me just say one thing about that....

Doubling To A Million Total Now $138 !

BTW; If you like reading this Blog. you can click on a google ad to support me ! The money from the clicks will also go to my total, but it is only at $0-61 so far !!

I have finally got my ebay system set up, so I woke up this morning having sold another 2 fudge cooking books !
I've also listed the playstation cheats and repair ebook and added a bonus Playstation 3 report.

The "Take The Internet Back" project has also started paying out.
As they GIVE you $10 to your account I have around $10.20 there, but I wont add that until I take the money out.

I'll add a ton more auctions to eBay and see if I can't make the next level by the end of the week !

Blogging to the Bank

Hi All !

Well, I have had another Fudge e-book sell, so after fees ect my total is now;
$125

I thought I had lost my Digital camera for a moment so I wasn't able to put the records on eBay last night.
Thankfully it was only the usb cable and I have a printer with a card reader, so crisis averted !!

Hopefully someone will want some excellent records.
I also got another 50 records for $1 so we'll see what is in those ones !

Later,
Rachel.

I'd (still) love to know about others who are doing this !

BTW, right now it is pretty cheap so get in quick !!
Rachel.

New Total ; $123.33

I've sold another of my CD-ROMs
and another Playstation repair eBook and one of my FUDGE HEAVEN eBooks ! So that added $16 to my total (after fees, of course).

I have to list the records I've gotten and see how they do. I hope to have them listed today.

PROJECT X

Tuesday, November 21, 2006

Wow, Fast..

And while I was writing, I sold 4 more eBooks. I love this !
That's another $11 to add so the total is now $101

I only have to x this by 10,000 and I've reached my goal....Simple.

Update, later in the day I sold a couple more & after fees ect.. I now have $107.13

For some reason Tuesday and Wednesday are the biggest sales days on Zillion.
BTW, you can still win a Nintendo Wii ; CLICK HERE

Creeping up.....

I've sold another CD-rom and another fudge book ($14.50) so my total would be $94.50.
I went in to town recently to do the shopping & other stuff, so I went out to a place called the SuperShed. It's where all the "stuff" that people throw out, gets re-claimed and sold.

Anyway, they have acres of LPs so I thought I'd check them out.
I got 22 records including a Beatles produced single pressed in NZ and lots of DGG records. All for $4.50 !!

I figured there might be some good ones there as the classical LP market seems to be a booming niche. Just check out the records section on eBay and look for DGG.

I figure even if I get $5 each (thats only $3.50USD) then I'll have another $110 which will take me to the next level :)

Thanks to Gerard over at "Double Your Way to a Million", I've also read a really interesting article on Bum Marketing.
Essentially, you write articles (250-1000 words) and submit them to ezine and article banks. The money maker ? Pop in affiliate links to clickbank products.
If you are not allowed, simply put a link to a place where you have the "unabridged article" !
1 report a day is not hard to do.

If you'd like to see what I've written about (Niche eBay markets) you can see my first 2 reports here; Auction Resource

And the Bum Marketing pages can be found HERE
This is great as it is free and no risk...just need a moderately functioning brain...

WooHoo !!! Step 15 is here :D

I just sold another $12 worth ( 1 CD-ROM and one Playstation Cheats book) so that puts me at $80 !
And I thought I'd give myself another few days...!!

The day just got better...CHOCOLATE !
Check the site out by clicking the banner below who doesn't love chocolate ?!!

Zooloot Delicious Chocolate Bar

Money coming in now !

So, since yesterday I have sold 4 more items.
My total is now officially $68.19 (That's in the bank account set aside for this ).
I have 3 sales payments to come in.

Also, I should add that, as the "rules" state, I have taken all expenses out including listing/selling fees, currency exchange, ink, paper ect...

While I was doing my usual reading per day online, I found this guys site He actually offers quite a few free resources, including a very good ebook.
Just thought I'd add the link as I found the free eBook quite good :D

'till next time...

More sold today...

So anyway, I bought from my stake in step 13 enough cd's, covers, ink & mailers to account for 100 cds (this cost $30 including shipping ect...).

I have now sold 3 LM Montgomery CD-ROMs at $9 each after fees.
I've also sold 3 copies of my Fudge Heaven eBook at $3 each after fees.
Plus an extra $12 worth of eBooks on PSP, Playstation Repair, Playstation Cheats and X-box cheats.

So the current total is $48.19 !
And I'm now selling more everyday :)
I have to admit, Trademe has been the best for the CD-ROMs, but seeing as they dont allow digital products, Zillion has been the best for the eBooks so far.
I'll list some more on eBay this week and hope to make the next step in 6 or 7 days :D

Oh, and on another note...After being a loyal Apple customer for over 13 years, they have finally gone too far.
I will be ransoming my G3 iBook on a grand scale....
She went in to have her logic board diagnosed (one of the many with faulty logic boards in that line...), Magnum Mac in CHCH said it was outside the worldwide warranty (apparently this is up to their discretion) and returned it with a broken optical drive !!
The dvd was perfect when it left, broken on its return.

I rang them, apparently it's a coincidence (???!!!!).
I had done a full diagnostic on it before it left me, so suffice to say, I'm open to other vendors.

Apple, you may have lost thousands and a very loyal customer (not that you'd care....)

So watch this space for the ransom note :D

How Easy is it to make $1,000,000 ?

Digg!

A growing number of people are accepting the challenge to “Double your way to a million” !
The idea put forward by Stuart Goldsmith in his free report (which can be accessed at to your right ) has intrigued many as the concept is so simple.

Look around, find one penny, cent or whatever the currency is in your country. Then double it.
If you double the amount of money you have just 28 times, you’ll end up with over $1,000,000 !

Now obviously, you have to work at it, become creative and learn from each step and each mistake.
The beauty of taking this challenge now, however, is the amount of support and encouragement you can find online.... especially from Bloggers.

So if you’d like to see how many of them are going... and how they are making money, just visit the people contained in my comprehensive list of links to the right !

Be sure to download the free report also.... It’s free, but it could change your life !

PS; I just sold another $17 worth of ebooks. Creeping towards step 15 !!!

Another $8 to add...

Well, finally I'm selling some more ! It's amazing how people prefer to buy from you after you have reached a certain feedback level at auction sites.

I have written an eBook in the last weeks about fudge making.
While going through 6 years of university, I paid for it by being a chef, so the fudge book was not much effort. I simply put in 152 recipes and around 3 pages of tips.
The first one sold for $3.99 this morning and I sold another eBook for $3.99 which tells you how to extend your PSP into something exceptional.
Click below to see these if you'd like.

You can still win a Nintendo WII if you join Zillion, so it's worth a shot !!

Join Zillion before 30 November and you could win a brand new Nintendo Wii gaming console and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, worth over $600!

Selling some...

Well. I sold another few digital items and less than 12 hrs of listing my LM Montgomery Omnibus, it was sold and paid for :) Another $15 to put on the total.

As most of you know (if you've clicked on the first link in my "Links" List) I'm also doing a trade up.
The major problem I have with trading is that it relies entirely on someone else to provide the means for going forward.

The thing I love most about doing this doubling is simply that it is all up to you (as most things are..) You choose how to make your money.
If that doesn't work...just change strategy.

I have also been throwing around a few ideas for setting up an easy way to make money on-line. The "simple" formula that many use is The Membership site. For the past week or two I've been throwing around ideas.
I've decided on the simple model of the free membership site with premium subscriptions.

But that's for the next step :)

Step 14 LIVE !!!

OK, so I have finally gotten my CD all finished and ready to ship out worldwide.

The CD contains 24 books from LM Montgomery, you know, the author responsible for Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea, Jane of Lantern Hill ect...

I have taken a lot of care to make this collection something I would be happy to purchase.
So don't just sit there.... CLICK HERE TO SEE IT !!!!

And the best thing is, if you click on that link and decide to sign up to that auction site (free of course !!) you'll have a chance at winning a Nintendo Wii gaming console and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess !

Pretty cool, huh ?!

Oh, you could also visit my new website where this cd will also be for sale; http://e-libris.co.nz

Monday, October 02, 2006

I sold the Diesel pants for $30, but as the rules state, I am spending the amount in excess of $40 elsewhere.

I have almost gotten my new offer ready. I will be selling professionally compiled CD's of certain collections of Public domain works !
My first compilation is The Omnibus of LM Montgomery.
Each of her books (remember Anne of Green Gables* ect...?) is re-formatted to PDF format. Every chapter of all the books is bookmarked for simple navigation, and I have also compiled a collection of quick facts, a biography and pictures - something no other CD has on it !

I've also just contacted Adobe for permission to include at least 2 formats of Acrobat Reader on each CD (PC & MAC).

I will need to sell 8 of these to reach my target. I will list them at $6.99 USD & $2USD worldwide postage. I'll add pics too.
Each CD has been quality checked, has a printed face and a jewel case with insert. These will be mailed in hard cardboard CD mailers.

Phew !

Step 13 ; $20-$40 Reached !!!

OK, the CD writer didn't sell at $35 NZD, but I offered it for $25 after the auction finished and the offer was accepted :D

That means after fees and postage I have $41.75.

So I have plans for $30 of that. And with some help from the wonderful concept of Public Domain, I wil hopefully double that within a few weeks.

Other Doublers !!

Recently I've become aware of quite a few other "Doublers" and have added them to my links to the left.
It's amazing to see peoples different takes on making money ...
A couple have gotten to step 13 (give or take..) with collecting bottles & cans ! I think the closest type of place to New Zealand that does this is actually South Australia (and that's not close !!).

So far I have been selling things that have been found or bought cheaply.
This approach can get you fairly far if you are a good judge of what sells. The other problem is living in a place with access to bargains !
Unfortunately I live 75kms from the nearest town so it really is quite difficult and expensive to go in just to look for items to sell.

I've been reading "The Science of Getting Rich"
And I've been realising I really need to create a value. I think I've got an idea on how to do this so watch this space !!!

Wednesday, September 20, 2006

So, you're wondering what I've found to advance ?
Well, I got a very rare pair of Mod Jeans. They are Diesel and still have their tags. The price on them is 110 pounds (around $320 NZD !!) and free with my $10 purchase was this CD writer. I tested it thouroughly. It has software for both PCs and Mac and most importantly it runs natively through OSX (!!!).

So I've listed it including postage for $35 and I'll list the Mod. Pants soon.

I also have some great ideas for the next step !

Thursday, September 14, 2006

Next stop...Step 13 !!

Wow, Fast !!

About 4 hours after listing the books, they have sold ! After fees and postage I now have $26.30.

So the next step is $20-$40.
I think there is a church sale on Sat morning here, so I'll see what I can do....

Step 12 : $10-$20

Payment for the items has come in, and with some of it, I managed to get a book the same as one I was given by my sister (a great book...!).
So I am offering this book called "Your Investment Property- How to choose it, Pay for it & triple your returns in 3 years (by someone who did it in 2)" by Anita Bell. The New Zealand Edition.

And I'm coupling it with one of my favourite authors' books, Robert Kiyosakis' The Cashflow Quadrant. One of the books all humans should read before leaving school !!

The Auction is HERE
This time I am aiming for the total amount of the step as that leaves the money from the previous step to pay the fees and postage. On my last one, I noticed that making up the half of the money for the step, actually cuts it too close. So from now on, I will try to aim for the full amount.
As the rules state, i'm spending the leftover elsewhere :D

Wednesday, September 13, 2006

Step 11 Completed $5-$10

Well, step 11 is now complete !
I sold the SSC items that mum found for $5 bringing me after fees to $10.
So what about Step 12 ??

I found another copy of a book that I was given as a present, and so I'll see how that goes...
But it's also Wednesday here, so I'll pop down to the second hand shop and see if there is anything I can resell there !

Tuesday, September 12, 2006

Step 10 Completed ! $5

That little elephant that we collected on a walk just sold for $5, so even minus fees I'm ahead :)
I can see why the early steps are so important now.

The joy of finding something is intense, but when you turn nothing into something, well, it's even better !
The waiting for the step to be completed also teaches patience, which I'm sure will come in handy when the steps are far larger.

So what of the next step ?
Step 11 - Turn $5 into $10

A long while ago, my Mum found a little figure and a hat that both came from the Strawberry Shortcake line.
Now, I don't really collect SSC items (except for really cute minis if I see one...). So I thought for the next step I would sell these 2 things as technically, they were also found.

The auction is HERE

Something else to add

OK, spring is coming so I took Chloe on a long walk. About half way she started nosing and digging. I pulled her away and found this;

He is a little locket. A very small brass elephant with Bankok, Thailand on him. The little area inside looks about the size of a pill holder !
So, I have also listed him on trademe HERE

My $5 step.

In a former life I had something to do with a business building organisation. I found I still had the tapes (5 or 6 of them) and was going to give them to goodwill.

Due to needing $5 for the next step, I have listed them on Trademe for $5 including shipping so we'll see if I get any takers...

See them here

Listing with gallery cost 25c
Total is $2.95

Another 50c. The Pub & The Garden...

While out walking on the 6th Chloe dragged me into the parking lot of one of our towns' Pubs. She sniffed around, and when she got out of the way there was a shiny 5c piece staring up at me.
does this dog have a nose for money, or what ?!!

And as I was gardening yesterday, I came across another 45c... See, growing your own food is a good thing :D

And before you say it...I know 5c is no longer legal tender here, but I popped down to the bank and had it changed.

The total is now.....
$3.20

So what I'm heading for is the $5 step and I think I have just the thing to do it !

The money so far (before being banked into a separate bank account for this purpose...)

First money found.

On the 1st of September I walked my puppy down to post some items away for my business (I sell toys online...). Chloe who has a strange obsession for all things human, started pulling and I noticed she had found a bottle top. She pushed it over and started happily munching on what was underneath.

The metallic sound had me worried, so after getting completely covered in slobber, I extracted $2.70 from her mouth !
So my first amount was found..

Total ; $2.70

Thanks Chloe !!

Can it be done ?

Can I double my way to a million dollars ??
I'd have to say yes, but the real challenge it seems will be not touching it before then !

I year ago I did do something similar. I won $100 and in 6 months turned it into $2,500 simply by buying low & selling high !

When I did this, it was a great learning experience. I learnt so much about what different people collected and what types of things are collectable.

So for this challenge, I am going to log every step of the way online. I'm not going to actively tell people I know what I'm doing, but if they find the blog, then fine :D

So where did I come up with this idea ?
I didn't !

This Guy posted on the One Red Paperclip Trading post about his journey. I kept reading every post he made, read all the resources he sighted and decided it was time for me to get working !!

At first I was pretty doubtful that I would find any money at all. I live in a small town with about 500 people and lets face it, most in NZ are pretty tight fisted and wouldn't let the small change escape ! Also, our "government" has decided the lowest amount we should have is $0.10 ! Zimbabwe anyone...???
